Joy of All Who Sorrow Prison Ministry

Mission Statement

Joy of all Who Sorrow Orthodox Church, located in Culver City, CA, a 501(c)3 religious organization, embodies the mission of her parent organization, The Orthodox Church in America (OCA). The mission of the OCA “is to be faithful in fulfilling the commandments of Christ, so that all people may be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.”

The Joy of All Who Sorrow Orthodox Prison Ministry is dedicated to fulfilling this mission by:

  • Engaging prison inmates and their families in the search for God and His redemptive love.
  • Providing regular and ongoing assistance for prisoners and their families, including but not limited to spiritual guidance, church services and sacraments, religious and secular education, individual and marital counseling, and parenting support
  • Preparation for reincorporation into society and ongoing support for former prisoners and their families.
  • Networking with other service organizations to help provide for a wholesome outlook and honorable approach to living within society.

The administrators, staff, and volunteers of the Joy of All Who Sorrow Prison Ministry confirm that all things are possible with God, and through the grace of His triune nature, the human soul is made ready to receive eternal salvation. With faith in this alone, the Joy of All Who Sorrow Prison Ministry is witness to the transformation of the human soul, whether hungry, thirsty, a stranger, naked, sick, or even in prison.
